The Workplace Charging Scheme provides support for organisations planning to install up to 40 electric vehicle ChargePoint sockets at their workplaces, dealerships and other commercial sites.
The scheme offers up to 75% of the total costs of the purchase and installation of EV charge-points (including VAT), capped at a maximum of:
-£350 per socket
-40 sockets across all sites per applicant – for instance, if you want to install them at 40 sites, you will have 1 socket available per site
It is open to eligible:
-Businesses -Charities -Public Sector Organisations -Small Accommodation Businesses
There is a separate scheme with a different grant amount for state-funded education institutions.
Project Better Energy is authorised to install your charge-points and can advise on best routes to secure scheme funding.
If you want to open your charge-points to the public and charge for usage, you will need to ensure you comply with:
-Public Charge-point Regulations 2023 and associated guidance
-Commercial chargepoints: minimum technical specification
