When Gas Boilers Are Gone, How Will You Heat Your Water?
With the impending phasing out of traditional boiler systems in favour of greener heating solutions, you may be wondering how water will be heated?
At Project CÜRV, our energy efficient, green heating and hot water solution comprises infrared heating panels for heating the property, and an air sourced hot water cylinder for hot water.
The air sourced hot water cylinder is powered by electricity not gas. It’s highly efficient (A+ ERP), and sleek and appealing in its design.
It also has…
- A fast heat up time.
- Various flexible modes to work around your life including auto, holiday, boost and eco.
- With water heating being the second biggest cause of carbon dioxide emissions from residential homes (after heating), it’s clear why this green technology is so important.
- And just as our air source hot water cylinder brings down emissions, it also brings down your energy bills.

Renewable Energy - It’s The Future Of Power, & It’s The Solution For Sustainability.
But what different types of renewable energy are there, and what else is coming?
Solar
Solar energy is drawn from the sun, and while we all might feel we don’t enjoy anything like nearly enough sun in this country, there is more than enough to power homes and buildings. In fact, you may be surprised to learn that we produce more solar power here in the UK than in sunny Spain!
Solar panels and new style Integrated Roof Panels capture the energy from the sun and convert it into power. Solar panels can be placed on the roofs of buildings or may be part of larger ‘solar farms’ on rural land. Solar power is infinite and converting it to power has no negative or harmful implications, which makes it such an appealing alternative to non-renewables.
Wind
Wind turbines convert wind into power. A bit like the sun, plenty of wind is pretty much guaranteed, and its conversion to power is effective and harmless. Even light winds are enough for wind turbines to work, as their blades turn, creating kinetic energy which is then converted to electrical energy. Wind turbines can be individual, to power a small property or area, or operate as large wind farms creating vast amounts of power.
Hydrogen
Hydrogen is a clean, renewable energy source. Whilst it is a gas, unlike other natural gases, when it is burnt it only creates water vapour rather than carbon dioxide which contributes towards climate change. Hydrogen can be produced from natural gas, other renewables such as solar and wind, or nuclear. It is already used in some countries to fuel cars. To make hydrogen a mainstream energy source, however, solutions need to be found to infrastructure, storage, and transportation challenges.
Tidal energy
Operating like wind, tidal energy offers the possibility of converting the natural power and movement of tides into electrical energy using tidal turbines. The possibilities are being researched, including by an engineering team at the University of Oxford. The benefits include the predictability of tides, and the challenges include the placement of tidal turbines and their impact on the eco-system.
Renewable energy solutions will evolve. But we can power your home or housing estate with renewable energy right now, with our leading solar energy service.

Infrared Heating Panels Are Good For Your Health
They are, honestly!
And I don’t just mean our long-term health because of their positive impact on the environment as eco-friendly solutions. Although that’s of course hugely important.
I’m talking about the way they work. Rather than moving air around, Infrared heats objects and people. This offers health benefits.
As the air doesn’t rise, particles and dust that have settled on radiators can’t move around with it.
This is great news for people suffering with asthma, allergies, and other respiratory conditions.
Infrared technology is known to have benefits for joint pain, skin allergies and circulation issues.
And our heating panels reduce the risk of damp and mould inside properties and the associated negative impact on health.
The appliances themselves are super safe with a safe surface temperature and a child lock. So we really have thought of everything.
Not just the planet, but the well-being and health of home-owners too.

Solar Panels – The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly?
As the owner of the UK’s largest solar retailer in the UK, I’m going to stick my neck out and say solar panels are only good, good, good.
If you haven’t considered them before, or are on the fence, here are my top five reasons why you should.
- Our Solar customers save money! Need I go on? Seriously though, there are significant, long-term cost savings to be made. As we all know, energy bills, particularly for families, can be enormous. Solar puts you in control, almost like your own mini power station, drawing renewable free energy from the sun for you to use efficiently in the home (and sell it back if you generate a surplus).
- You’ll be helping the environment. With ambitious zero-carbon emissions targets on the horizon, it makes sense to get a head start. Solar energy is renewable, it helps reduce global warming, and the more people who have it, the more sustainable our planet will be.
- It will improve the Energy Performance Certificate of a home – a great selling point if you’re in the business of selling homes.
- Our solar panels are long-lasting and low maintenance. So much so that we offer a Lifetime Warranty.
- Solar can integrate via Smart technology with other energy-saving products to create a fully energy-efficient home.

When It Comes To Green Technology There’s Three Main ‘Myths’
When it comes to green technology there’s three main ‘myths’ or perceptions I frequently come across.
This is particularly the case when it comes to green heating systems, which use infrared heating panels rather than boilers and radiators.
These ‘myths’ are completely understandable, because much of this technology is new, and little is known about it compared to the traditional solutions and systems we’re all used to.
The world is changing. We all need to start thinking differently and being open to new technology. This is especially the case if you’re in the business of building or providing homes.
Emissions targets, new regulations, bans are coming thick and fast, and everyone is going to need to comply.
So, let’s get myth busting….
Myth #1 | Green Heating Solutions are Expensive
Well, any new heating system put into a home is naturally going to be expensive, hence why people live in fear of boilers breaking down, and most GCH companies offer plans and support to help with cost. The question is, are green alternatives more expensive? The short answer is, not hugely, no, and there are great financial benefits that lie in the long-term savings possible (all the more so when integrated with other eco-products).
Myth #2 | Green Heating Solutions Are Complicated & Difficult To Install
Nope! Our heating solutions are carefully designed to be able to be installed by a standard electrician or heating engineer and come with plenty of support from our team and full, clear installation guides.
If a builder is installing our whole house system of eco-products, they’ll all work seamlessly together and will be easy as pie for the end user too, as everything is Smart and operated via Apps.
Myth #3 | Green Heating Solutions Are For The Future
If by ‘future’, you mean a couple of years’ time, then yes. Because a couple of years’ time is when the boiler ban is likely to come in, and house builders and providers will hardly want to put an expensive system in just to replace it when the law changes. Now is the time to be exploring, reviewing, and making decisions about the technology to use. Because not only will this keep you legally compliant, but it will position you well as a business ahead of the curve, installing innovative, eco-friendly energy solutions now.

Carbon Net-Zero Is Coming, Will You Be Ready?
The UK government has ambitious plans around reducing carbon emissions and has enshrined key dates in law.
They’ve made a commitment to 78% reduction in carbon emissions from 1990 levels by 2035.
We’re expecting gas boilers to be phased out within the next five years.
All new conventional petrol and diesel cars and vans are set to be banned from sale in 2030.
Along the way will be other important dates which will impact different industries from cars to home-builders, as petrol makes way for electric, boilers make way for non-water based heating systems, and fossil fuels make way for solar and other renewables.
These transitions can’t be avoided, we all need to wake up to them.
At Project Better Energy, we’ve seen this coming for a long time.
For businesses and individuals looking to be compliant and prepared, we can help.
Our products have been stringently tested.
Our products are being installed and used.
Our customers are saving money.
We’re talking solar panels, electric vehicle charging, infrared heating technology, and a host of other smart accessories.
Reducing carbon emissions is going to be a challenge. But the longer people avoid it, the harder it will be. We’re already helping our customers do this so they can relax, knowing they are compliant and doing the right thing.

Infrared Heating Panels - How They Work?
One of the many selling points of the Infrared Heating Panels we install in homes is that they are aesthetically pleasing, designed to enhance a room, make a feature.
This is because they can be positioned as a flat, sleek, ocean white, or graphite grey ceiling or wall panel, act as a stylish mirror, or a funky looking towel rail. They offer great flexibility in where they are positioned and how they look.
We are all used to the need to position radiators in a specific place based on the concept of heating the air, which then rises, so how do these Infrared Panels work?
Well they work completely differently to traditional heating systems, because they don’t heat the air, they directly heat the people and objects in the room.
They are more efficient, in that warm air isn’t wasted as it rises, but stays in the lower part of the room rather than rising to the ceiling!
They are also;
- Fast and responsive
- Operated by Amazon and Google smart assistants.
- Fully flexible to be turned on and off in different zones across the house.
- Safe and with health benefits
- Easy to install.
- Cost-effective compared to traditional systems.
